No-exam life insurance
Who is eligible for fast-track approval, how the process works, and what happens if you are not.
Many carriers now offer fast-track underwriting: applicants within certain age and coverage limits can get approved using your application, prescription history, driving records, and other information, without a medical exam. Some say yes within hours. Each quote on this site tells you whether an exam is required, might be required, or is not required.
What it changes
No exam does not mean no underwriting. Your answers are checked, and a policy issued based on false information can be challenged for two years. If the carrier's records prompt concern, it might ask for an exam or blood work anyway; you decide whether to move ahead.
Who tends to qualify
Generally applicants under about 60, applying for coverage up to the carrier's fast-track limit, with no serious health issues and no tobacco use for a year or longer. If you have recent medical records with lab work, some carriers use those instead of requiring a new exam.
Should an exam be necessary, plan for a 20- to 30-minute appointment with a paramedical technician at your residence or workplace in the Lancaster area, at zero cost. For healthy candidates, exam findings can boost your rate class, so an exam is not always negative.
